Koirasalmi Lodge
Accommodation and nature programs in the Southernmost Wilderness
Our base camp is located In Salamajärvi national park in north of Central Finland at Koirasalmi Lodge and nature information hut.
The building itself is old logger's cabin and restored as a monument of logging era from 1930-1960.
Koirasalmi Lodge accommodates comfortably 22 persons in the middle of national park. Directly from the door you can enter national park's hiking trails, fishing waters and forests rich of berries and mushrooms! The lodge is perfect base also for bird and mammal observers. You can take part to guided excursions or explore the national park by yourself. Lodge has also own honey bee apiary. In the cafeteria hot cup of coffee can be enjoyed. The lodge also functions as the national park's nature information hut and offers kiosk and hiking, paddling and fishing rental services.
A large variety of guided tours and treks and outdoor courses are held in the lodge: flora & fauna, wildlife tracking, fishing, wilderness cooking, nature photography, just to name a few. You can also bring your own group to the lodge.
